Criminals have taken the fun out of bathing by mixing synthetic drugs and selling them as bath salts.  When used properly, bath salts are added to bath water to improve individual bathing experiences.  As usual, idol minds have gone and messed up a good thing.

According to a press release from the office of Illinois State Senator Jacqueline Collins, these drugs “can cause suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, paranoia and violent behavior.”  Also, “they can be found for sale in smoke shops, convenience stores and on the Internet.”

To help combat the sale, distribution on usage of these drugs, Senator Collins passed Senate Bill 1034.  The goal is to “ban the possession of these chemicals, whether in the form of bath salts or otherwise, regulating them as Schedule I controlled substances due to the danger they present, and making possession of them a felony.”
