Chicago Department of Public Health South Chicago Clinic

Chicago Department of Public Health South Chicago Clinic

I have been receiving health care services from this facility since I am uninsured, and would like to make other people aware of this health center.

Located at 2938 E. 89th Street, the South Chicago Clinic is one of the southeast side’s best kept secret. It is housed inside a former police department in the South Chicago community.

I don’t know all of the services they provide, but I can attest to the services I’ve received as a single female with no dependents. I was offered the Illinois Healthy Women, a program that allows you to get free female services and birth control. Visit http://www.illinoishealthywomen.com/ for more details.

During my last visit, I was concerned that I couldn’t receive services because I hadn’t received notification of approval or denial. The young lady at the front desk told me not to worry about it; I would still receive care.

My first visit was a little lengthy, but all visits thereafter were much shorter.

Ok, the staff members look really unconcerned, but they are cool. If they weren’t, I would have written about them a long time ago.:)

Just wanted to make you aware that this facility exists and free and low cost services are available. Like I said, I don’t all of the services that are offered at the South Chicago Clinic, but I do know that I am satisfied with my experience.
