Chicago’s Disregard for Its Black Founder, Jean Baptiste DuSable

In a previous post I mentioned that Chicago’s black founder, Jean Baptiste DuSable, was the city’s best kept secret. Check out how they spelled his name on the Office of the City Clerk’s website.

Was it their intent to try to make his name sound European or was it an oversight on the part of their writer?

Either way, it is not a good look and they need to correct the spelling of his name on this site and in all of their literature.
