I had the pleasure of interviewing Clark Kirk, Founder, President and CEO of Clara’s House, the first women’s shelter in West Englewood on Chicago’s South Side.
For nearly 30 years, Ms. Clara has provided shelter to homeless, domestic violence victims and low-income women and their children through Clara’s House and Clara’s Place.
Clara’s House needs financial assistance with operating costs, and has set up a crowdfunding campaign to collect donations. Also, Clara’s Place has a $20,000 gas bill that needs to be paid ASAP. Ms. Clara is determined not to let these people go homeless.
So, click on the image below to read my article about Clara’s House in this weeks’ Independent Bulletin newspaper. And please donate to Clara’s House crowdfunding campaign if you can.
Thank you for this service that you are giving to us southsiders. It seems as if the south and west sides of Chicago have dropped off the map as far as the media is concerned unless there is a shooting or something. We can really use the info that you are providing us with.
I am looking for a current phone number and more info concerning The Dusable Heritage Association.
Thanks again
Thanks for stopping through and leaving a comment, Ms. Bonnie. That is so appreciated.
As for the DuSable Heritage Association, contact the DuSable Museum for more information. They should be able to guide you.
