Diane Latiker Opens Her Home & Heart to Young People in Roseland

Kids Off the Bock Logo

I had the pleasure of interviewing Diane Latiker, the Executive Director of Kids Off the Block youth program located in the Roseland community on Chicago’s South Side. Diane is the perfect example of a community leader. She opened her heart and home to ALL the kids in her community to keep them safe. They didn’t know her and she didn’t know them, but she made them feel at home and they kept returning. Her genuine concern for the young people probably saved numerous lives from untimely deaths. Listen to her story of how she got started, what keeps her going and how the community can help her continue to keep young people off the street, which helps save their lives.

  1. Diane, you are so welcome. It was a great pleasure meeting you and I’m looking forward to connecting you with the project we spoke of earlier. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

  2. Marcie, this is all so surreal! Just so happens I reached out to Diane in an attempt to reconnect with my old high school friend, Peggy, who happens to be Diane’s cousin or aunt?! I forget which.

I think it’s great what Diane Latiker is doing for Chicago youth! Enjoyed the interview. And Diane, make sure to tell Peggy, I’m still waiting to hear from her:)

    Blessings,
    Clara.
