In this year of 2012, it is amazing that women working in similar jobs as men earn 77 cents to their dollar. That’s a watered down way of putting that, but women are still grossly underpaid – on so many levels. Even more amazing is the fact that women earned 69 cents for each dollar their male counterparts earned in 1963 when the Equal Pay Act was passed. So, it’s 49 years later and they have only gained 8 cents more. Ok, that’s not amazing; that’s disgusting. But, that’s life in the good ol’ U.S. of A.
