You are invited to my event, How We Roll: History of Black Skating in Chicago. I decided to have this event to commemorate the 80th year of the very first day black people were able to roller skate indoors in Chicago. After all these years, there’s still a pretty big roller skate community in the windy city with the few rinks we have left.
This will be an educational program followed by skating. I am going to give a brief history of black skating in Chicago, have an inter-generational skate and more. There will be appetizers.
