This restaurant has been on Vincennes for a while and I finally took the time to check it out. I was greeted when I first walked in and the gentleman answered all of my questions, which was cool.
I had a very simple order: a chicken tostada and a side of rice.
The food was quite tasty. The flavor of the chicken had a tasty twist that I couldn’t quite pinpoint, but it was good. The rice was just regular rice. There was nothing that really stood out.
The only thing that could have been different was a second shell for the tostada. Overall, it was good experience with both the food and services.
Check out Mi Lindo Durango Taqueria on 9940 S. Vincennes, (773) 239-4412.
My mother was really wanted to a gyro and the place we normally go to was closed. I remembered this restaurant from a few years ago when Kronos was giving out free gyros.
The name and ownership has changed since that free gyro event, but apparently the delicious gyros have not. It’s almost two weeks later and my mother is still talking about it.
The front of the Five Star Burger menu boasts of “All Natural Meat U Fresh Cut Fries.” And the fries were absolutely amazing. They smell and taste good.
The gyro and fries are sold separately; they usually come as a meal. My mother commented about the items being sold separately. Do you know they gave her a free order of fries? Now, that’s service!
Also, they have daily specials posted on the wall of the establishment. Go in and check them out when you get chance. They are located at 2353 W. 111th Street. Their number is (773) 779-5945.
Unfortunately, I did not take pictures of the food from either Mi Lindo or Five Star, but please know that was it delicious and both restaurants are highly recommended. They are both open 7 Days a week and offer dine in and carry out options.
