Position Title: Project Coordinator

Position Summary: Coordinates the Safety Net Works Initiative in accordance with Children’s Home + Aid policies, strategic plan and mission. Reports to the designated supervisor.

Core Responsibilities:

• Fulfils Children’s Home + Aid’s responsibility as the lead agency to execute all programmatic and fiscal reporting requirements for the Safety Net Works Grant
• Coordinates and facilities the Coalition’s planning and implementation of the Safety Net Works Initiatives
• Develops and monitors appropriate performance based subcontracts and reporting requirements with partner agencies to ensure execution of planned projects, in accordance with subcontract budgets, and appropriate fiscal and programmatic reporting
• Supports coalition building through community outreach
• Responsible for coordinating and hosting monthly coalition meetings
• Attends all mandated Safety Net Works core trainings and meetings
• Works closely with coalition agencies/groups such as schools, faith-based and community-based organizations, along with representatives from state agencies, including but not limited to public health, law enforcement, child welfare, Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools and others to support the success of the coalition
• Provides supervision to the Youth Organizer

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related human service field
• Minimum 2 years administrative and oversight experience
• Experience with program and budget planning
• Experience with violence prevention work and at-risk youth
• At least one year of experience in working with community coalitions and in youth
development/violence prevention programming
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
